So you are going to do something against climate change? What is it you are going to do?Is climate change really the problem?Population growth – EU in the year 2000: 343′000 people- India allone in the first week of 2001: 343′000 people.Population on earth in 1900 was 1.6 BillionPopulation on earth in 2000 was 6.5 BillionsPopulation on earth in 2100 will be 50 Billions??Do we have enaugh energy, water, soil, fish, or dont we have to chop down the rest of the rainforests?
You are correct – climate changes. There is natural climate change, and there is human-caused climate change. The issue we’re all referring to, I think, is the latter. There is overwhelming scientific evidence to support the fact that humans are indeed changing the global climate. It is with 95% certainty that the climate changes we are seeing cannot be explained by non-human factors alone.
That is real data, not estimates. Much of that data comes from Antarctic ice core samples, where a pool-noodle shaped piece of ice is pulled up with layers of ice dating back 850,000 years. Air bubbles that have been frozen and trapped for all those years are used to determine what the atmospheric air content was like at that time.
zcaron, how can? “that small amount” of C02 which you state accounts for 60+% of the greehouse gas warming effect on this planet is (to me that’s Irish) sorry I do come from N. Ireland & as we say here it’s all a bit of craic” Look at all the money being pumped in2 trying to save the planet (what about the Credit Crunch) Well I refer back to the last part of my last post & that is “some day soon people will realise that we are not able to save Planet Earth.. as it’s not for us to save.” END!
It’s in the science. It’s based on the properties of the gas itself. It’s why CO2 is called a “greenhouse gas”. It and other greenhouse gases trap heat, which is what causes the natural greenhouse effect on this planet, giving us the average global temperature of ~16 C.
And, while I certainly appreciate your ending quote, the mass of concern around anthropogenic climate change is focused on how climate change is impacting humanity and the level to which we can deal with and/or adapt to these change. I am quite certain the planet will be fine on its own.
Thanx Achurara, no offence was taken. I know that mankind as a whole contribute 2 the CO2 emmitions etc but from information I have looked at tonight it turns our to be a mere 1% and as I have stated all along a mere fraction of what the Mother Earth pumps out… but thank u for having a similar understanding of Climate Change & Global warming… this topic can go on for ages.. some day soon people will realise that we are not able to save Planet Earth….. as it’s not for us to save…
